With the creation of Law No. 28251, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) has promoted the policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). For this reason, DISCOVERING PERU TRAVEL joins in complying with and supporting the ESNNA code, thus taking joint actions to prevent and eliminate this problem. Therefore, we declare that:
● We reject the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) in Peru and worldwide, in general, and particularly in its form associated with travel and tourism, as it is a practice that violates fundamental human rights and is contrary to the intrinsic objectives of tourism in our country.
● We denounce and condemn those who use tourism and the facilities and services it offers to promote, facilitate, or tolerate the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents; and in light of the foregoing.
DISCOVERING PERU TRAVEL subscribes to this Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in the Tourism Sector.
Furthermore, all members of our staff, in order to take the necessary measures to protect children and adolescents from sexual exploitation, commit to:
● Maintaining an ethical policy of rejecting the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the context of travel and tourism.
● Informing and training staff on the company’s policy regarding the prevention of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.
● Displaying visible symbols that alert clients and suppliers to our position regarding the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.
● Including a clause in contracts with tourism service providers declaring our shared rejection of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. The following paragraph will be used: “Tourism promotes a childhood and adolescence free from sexual exploitation; therefore, we do not accept any act that favors the sexual exploitation of girls, boys, and adolescents.”
