Tour Description:

Day 1: After an early breakfast pick up from your hotel. Private bus transfer to the starting point of the trail, Km. 82 of the railroad Cusco – Machu Picchu. After meeting with tour outfitters and guide, start to hike along the left margin of the Urubamba River.  After 6 hours, arrive to the small village of Huayllabamba. Assistants will fix the campsite while our cook prepares dinner. Overnight in  bi-personal tents.

Day 2: Early morning hot breakfast and start for the Huarmihuañuska Pass, the highest point along the trail located at 4,200 meters above sea level (13,780 ft.). Hike along the picturesque scenery of Andean forests and snowcapped mountain peaks. After lunch, descend to the Pacaymayo valley for our second campsite and dinner.

Day 3: After breakfast we will begin perhaps the most beautiful stage of our journey starting with the ruins of Sayacmarca and Puyupatamarca. The trail will start to descend to the mountain forest and the change in fauna and flora will be notorious. Once at the small village of Huiñay Huayna with its rather tropical climate, we will fix our last campsite.

Day 4: After our usual early morning breakfast we will start with the last part of the trail and will arrive to Inti Punku. Once at this former Inca control entrance to Machu Picchu, we will have an outstanding view of the Lost City of the Incas, as well as the snow-capped peaks of the Urubamba mountain range and the vast, untamed Amazon forest.
We will then make our last descend to enter the Machu Picchu ruins. Guided visit. After the tour we will have lunch at the SANTUARY LODGE and then after a brief rest transfer to the train station of Aguas Calientes for the journey back to the city of Cusco. Transfer from train station to the hotel.
